It is with pleasure that I can announce that all 3 Staking4ADA pools have been successfully registered on-chain, and are now ready to take your orders 🙂
Eventually, the delegation job is done in the wallet, but i might be good idea to come take a look at all available pools on Pooltool.io as well.
Here, making comparisons is a lot easier, although eventually the proof will always be in the pudding 😉
I’ll be in touch with further updates about just about anything, but should you have any questions at this point, do not hesitate to contact me by posting a comment, sending me an email, or finding me on telegram or twitter (contact buttons on the homepage).
Happy Delegating! 🙂
Jos
Looks like I jumped the gun yesterday! I will be staking when I get home!!!
lol You mean you accidentally pressed the delegate button on another pool!?
All is forgiven 🙂
No Jos- 🙂 I couldn’t find your pools in the first few hours. So I waited a day and here you are! Looking forward to staking with you again!!
Great stuff, glad you waited. Creating a pool isn’t just pressing a button, let alone creating three!
If that were the case you probably would have had your own stakepool 😉
So I tried to install the new version of Daedalus wallet https://daedaluswallet.io/en/download/ and it is giving me this message? We’re working on a new version of Daedalus right now. Please check back soon! WTF!
Hi Stuart, might have been a temporary thing? Just checked, and the same and most recent version (2.0.0) is still up. Perhaps you need to refresh your browser cache. Use CTRL+F5
I D/Led mine today about 8 hours ago and it installed quickly. Then saw they had removed import so contacted support to learn restore works fine from old Byron to new Shelly wallet. It’s been about 4 hours syncing with still 25% to go. Not to happy about that. But hopefully should be staking soon.
Don’t worry Howie, you’ll be fine. You have until Aug 3 (end of current epoch) to press that delegate button without risking to lose any rewards at all 🙂
Thanks for the reply Jos. Woke and continued the process. Turns out the length of sync was due to old Bryon wallet being rebuilt in new version. Took little time to create new Shelly Wallet to move the ADA and delegate. Must admit have not yet found content to explain cost. Is that set by each individual pool owner? I saw the transaction fee to be paid listed prior to authorizing staking transaction. Did not see line item for expense of a greater amount of ADA spent for the staking transaction. Was that initial expense to cover cost getting into the pool? Will that be recurring or was it a one time cost based on entry? I would expect the percentage fee on rewards is withheld so I never see it. Thanks in advance for helping me to understand this. Got some people I need to explain this to as they jump into the pools.
Sorry I somehow missed your comment until now… about your questions:
cost… you mean as in pool cost which is 340ADA for most pools? This is the fixed cost deducted each epoch from total pool rewards, before the variable fee is applied and the remainder is distributed to all delegators. 340 is the minimum imposed by the shelley protocol to avoid a race to the absolute bottom and allow pool operators to cover at lease basic expenses, to ensure sufficient quality of the network.
I believe every delegation requires a 2ADA transaction fee or something similar. Haven’t tried it yet myself. This fee does not go to the lucky pool but -as with any other transaction- to the pool producing the block which contains the delegation transaction.
The rewards you eventually receive in your wallet are net; any cost/fees will have been deducted beforehand.
Let me know if you have further questions. Happy staking 🙂
